Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Magnolia, AR seeks an Environmental Services Technician to perform full-range cleaning in hospital areas, including restrooms and patient rooms, while following infection prevention protocols and waste handling guidelines.

You will interact with staff, patients and visitors with a positive attitude, support special projects, and document tasks in the Epic system. Must have a high school diploma or GED and basic English skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand simple English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs restroom cleaning and complete patient room cleaning following protocol.
• Follows infection prevention protocols and uses correct chemicals.
• Maintains cleaning of walls, doors, glass, furniture, floors with mopping and edging.
• Removes trash and linens following waste type guidelines.
• Uses proper PPE and lifting techniques to ensure safety.
• Complies with hospital policies and uses UV light equipment properly.
• Places appropriate liners and ties off waste containers as required.
• Greet staff, patients and visitors with a positive disposition and strong customer service.
• Works on projects and performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Documents daily tasks and adjusts to staff shortages; uses the Epic system for patient flow.
• Performs other duties and adheres to Wellstar policies and code of conduct.
