Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health Bridgeport Hospital is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to maintain patient rooms, clinical areas and common spaces in accordance with hospital cleaning standards.

The role requires adherence to infection control procedures, safe handling of cleaning chemicals, and timely completion of daily tasks under the supervision of the EVS Supervisor. Previous cleaning experience is preferred, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and speak English at a level that allows for safe efficient performance of assigned duties.
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings as required by the client.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to follow cleaning procedures and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, corridors, stairwells, elevators and other areas.
• Adhere to standard cleaning and infection control procedures.
• Maintain equipment and report repair needs to supervisor.
• Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions as required.
