Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a housekeeping professional to maintain sanitary and orderly hospital areas under supervision. Responsibilities include cleaning, linen changes, and following safety procedures to protect patients and staff.

The role requires punctual cleaning, teamwork, and courteous interaction with patients and visitors. You will transport supplies, report repairs, and document tasks as per policy.

Qualifications

• Safety knowledge applicable to patient care and workforce safety.
• Competency in delivering cleaning services on time and to standard.
• Ability to greet and interact politely with patients, visitors and staff while working.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cleaning supplies and equipment; load and transport to work areas as assigned.
• Clean assigned areas using various housekeeping tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing).
• Prepare cleaning solutions following label instructions.
• Perform discharge room cleaning and remake beds with fresh linens per guidelines.
• Notify team leader of any maintenance repairs needed in the area.
• Clean and store equipment after use in designated storage areas.
• Log tasks on Interserv per GBMC policy.
