Job summary

Truman Medical Center is seeking a PRN Environmental Services Technician for UH Lakewood Medical Center with varied shifts. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

This role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, English communication, and reliable operation of cleaning equipment. Training will include competency assessment within 30–60 days.

Qualifications

• Speak and read English; communicate effectively with staff, patients and visitors.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; handle heavier items if needed.
• Know how to operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely and effectively.
• Be ready to complete a competency assessment after training within 30–60 days of hire.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with attention to small details that impact cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service hospital areas per established procedures to keep them in top condition.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies around departments as needed to set up spaces.
• Maintain cleanliness following infection control standards and safety procedures.
• Operate electric and battery-powered floor care equipment to keep floors spotless.
• Read cleaning chemical labels and use chemicals safely and correctly.
