Job summary

University Health is seeking an Environmental Services Worker at UH Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This part-time role (4 hours per week) focuses on maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment and supporting various departments.

You will follow established cleaning procedures, move items as needed, and operate floor care equipment while adhering to safety and infection control standards. Training and performance assessment are part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Communicate effectively in English with staff, patients and visitors.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Know how to operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely.
• Be ready to complete a competency assessment within 30–60 days of hire.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and servicing hospital areas to keep them in top condition.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies to set up spaces for hospital functions.
• Maintain safety and sanitation by following infection control standards and safety procedures.
• Operate electric and battery-powered floor care equipment to keep floors clean.
• Read and understand cleaning chemical labels and follow safety instructions.
