Job summary

Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking an Environmental Services Technician II to maintain a clean, safe patient environment. You'll perform daily room and area cleaning, including isolation/terminal cleaning, following department and corporate standards.

This full-time role offers days from 7am to 3:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays. You will work under the Environmental Services Manager, focusing on teamwork, safety, and high customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Prefer high school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with the correct use of body mechanics.
• The ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• The communications skills necessary to understand written and verbal instructions.
• The organizational skills necessary to coordinate, prioritize and accomplish multiple work assignments.
• The ability to work on call and overtime when necessary, including all holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient room and ancillary area daily cleaning per departmental and corporate standards.
• Clean isolation/terminal rooms and equipment as assigned; daily in patient rooms and ancillary areas.
• Dispose of soiled linens and garbage daily; ensure cleanliness of housekeeping carts and equipment.
• Utilize and mix cleaning chemicals safely; label bottled chemicals daily.
• Maintain adequate supplies of paper products, soap, and other essentials in assigned areas daily.
• Communicate with manager to ensure service standards are achieved and maintained.
