Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician II at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time, 40-hour position offers evening hours from 3pm to 11:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays to maintain patient rooms and common areas.

The role involves cleaning patient rooms and ancillary areas, handling waste and sharps, restocking supplies, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for patients and staff in a busy hospital.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with correct use of body mechanics.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• Communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work on call and overtime, including all holidays.

Responsibilities

• Report to Environmental Services Manager and clean patient rooms and ancillary areas daily per standards.
• Perform isolation/terminal cleaning of rooms and equipment as assigned.
• Dispose of soiled linens and garbage and maintain cart and equipment cleanliness.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals safely and cost-effectively, labeling bottles.
• Ensure adequate supplies of paper products, soap, sharps containers, etc., daily.
• Provide a positive customer-service environment through teamwork and attitude.
• Observe and report any equipment or facility repairs needed daily.
