Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. Responsibilities include daily cleaning and sanitation in inpatient units, discharge areas, and surgical settings, supporting infection prevention and patient safety.

Shifts run 7:00am–3:30pm or 3:00pm–11:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Requires one to three months on-the-job training to learn developmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques, proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Cleans ancillary & emergency room areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, and other assigned areas outpatient non-surgical settings.
• Cleaning duties include use of appropriate cleaning products in wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills, emptying garbage cans, cleaning furniture and other tasks as assigned.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in exam rooms and restroom as necessary. Informs team leader and supervisory team when low on supplies.
• Follows departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
• Follows and adheres to hospital wide and departmental quality and safety requirements.
