Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe hospital environment. This role supports high standards, complies with regulations, and contributes to a healing atmosphere for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning across all areas, using standard housekeeping tools, and maintaining a tidy work environment while following safety guidelines. Weekday/weekend/evening/night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in housekeeping preferred.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and safety across hospital areas according to established quality standards.
• Utilize equipment such as high dusters, vacuums, mops, floor polishers and other tools to perform cleaning duties.
• Handle general office equipment and assist in maintaining a tidy work environment.
• Utilize good communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to tasks.
• Work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines and expectations.
• Follow established guidelines and procedures for handling hazardous materials and potential exposure situations.
