Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a dedicated environmental services worker to provide cleaning services in a hospital setting with emphasis on operating rooms, patient discharges and floor care.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning in patient rooms, offices, labs and public areas, waste handling, and adherence to safety protocols. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in environmental services; prior healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: 1–2 years in environmental services
• Preferred: Prior hospital or healthcare experience

Responsibilities

• Vacuums carpeted surfaces and damp mops hard floors.
• Assist supervisor in orienting new housekeeping staff.
• Clean offices, patient rooms, labs, public areas and stairs with hospital-approved cleaners.
• Clean windowsills and dispose of waste; maintain sanitary conditions.
• Handle biohazardous waste per protocol and log activities in Epic or equivalent system.
