Job summary

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain clean, safe patient and non-patient areas. You will perform dusting, disinfection, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, laundry duties, and linen handling under supervision.

You should be detail-oriented, capable of independent work, and able to multitask while following established procedures. This full-time role requires physical stamina and adherence to infection control practices.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Past cleaning experience preferred.
• Infection control knowledge preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keep areas free of dust and debris.
• General cleaning and disinfecting per policies and procedures.
• Fill out task paperwork and explain any incomplete tasks.
• Clean bathrooms, sinks, surfaces, and floors; dust and polish furnishings.
• Monitor supplies (soap, disinfectant, trash bags) and restock as needed.
• Handle unscheduled housekeeping emergencies (spills, etc.).
• Operate or be trained on floor scrubber, carpet shampooer, buffer, and related equipment.
• Laundry duties: collect/deliver linen, sort, wash, dry, fold.
• Inspect facilities and report safety concerns to the appropriate department.
