Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Switchboard Operator to join the Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals community in Danvers. Under the Switchboard supervisor, you will handle incoming calls, evaluate needs, and facilitate paging for emergencies, documenting details in the code record.

You will monitor alarms, assist with decedent paperwork coordination, and work with the medical team and funeral homes to ensure smooth transfers while prioritizing patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of email and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology.
• Previous switchboard experience preferred.
• SPOK communication console experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Answer, evaluate and facilitate incoming calls to Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals and affiliated offices.
• Answer the hospital emergency code phone and document code events in the code record.
• Use two-way radio to update hospital security on emergencies.
• Monitor safety/security alarms for inpatient areas and ED.
• Assist in decedent paperwork and coordinate transfers with funeral homes.
