UNC Rex Holly Springs Hospital seeks a communications specialist to provide expert telecommunications support for continuous monitoring of hospital facilities and during emergencies, coordinating information to police, fire, and medical personnel.

The role handles police calls, fire alarm coordination, CCTV/alarm systems, and reports in RMS/CAD systems. The position is per diem, onsite in Holly Springs, with a wage range shown in the job details.

Responsibilities

Receive and document incoming and outgoing emergency and non-emergency police calls using police telephone and radio equipment.
Obtain accurate information from callers; transmit to hospital police/security; use CAD/RMS for reporting.
Monitor fire alarm systems and act as 24-hour liaison for fire emergencies and drills.
Monitor regulated systems and dispatch officers for security breaches; contact outside agencies as needed.
Operate surveillance and alarm systems; document testing and deficiencies; assist Plant Engineering as required.
