Job summary

PATHS, LLC is seeking a Hospital Representative / Account Representative to support Eligibility Services for patients receiving care through ChristianaCare Newark Emergency Department (CCHS Newark ED). This role involves screening uninsured and underinsured patients for Medicaid and other financial assistance programs, and coordinating the application process.

The incumbent will work directly with patients in the Emergency Department, perform outreach calls, gather necessary documents, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare, patient advocacy, eligibility, registration, insurance verification, or financial counseling experience preferred.
• Experience assisting patients with Medicaid or government assistance programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured and underinsured patients for Medicaid, Charity Care, and other assistance programs.
• Meet with patients in the Emergency Department to collect demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Conduct telephone outreach to referred patients.
• Follow up on eligibility requirements, documentation, and application status.
• Verify insurance coverage and identify available assistance programs.
• Submit required documentation for applications to state agencies.
