PATHS, LLC is seeking a Hospital Representative/Account Representative to support Eligibility Services for patients receiving care through ChristianaCare Newark Emergency Department (CCHS Newark ED). The role involves screening uninsured and underinsured patients for Medicaid and other financial assistance programs, with outreach by phone and in-person in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in healthcare, eligibility, registration, insurance verification, or financial counseling preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured and underinsured patients for Medicaid and other healthcare assistance programs.
• Meet patients bedside in the Emergency Department to collect demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Conduct telephone outreach to referred patients.
• Follow up on eligibility requirements, documentation, and application status.
• Verify insurance coverage and identify available healthcare assistance programs.
• Complete Medicaid and other applications accurately and timely.
• Maintain detailed notes in designated systems and communicate outcomes to patients and staff.
• Adhere to HIPAA and PATHS policies; complete onboarding and ongoing training; meet productivity and quality standards.
