Job summary

UPMC is seeking a nutrition professional to provide high-level nutrition expertise within an interdisciplinary team managing hospitalized patients in Mechanicsburg, PA.

New graduates welcome; licensure as a Registered Dietitian and current clinical nutrition experience preferred. Responsibilities include malnutrition identification, nutrition education, and collaboration across units with a focus on evidence-based practice in patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with Registered Dietitian certification obtained before January 1, 2026, with 2 years clinical nutrition experience.
• OR master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with Registered Dietitian certification obtained on or after January 1, 2026, with 1 year of clinical nutrition experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level nutrition expertise in interdisciplinary team management of hospitalized patients.
• Identify malnutrition via Nutrition Focused Physical Assessment using established criteria.
• Execute order writing per Dietitian Delegation Order system protocol.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling based on patient/family learning needs.
• Mentor and train dietetic students, interns and support personnel.
• Lead department initiatives annually and promote evidence-based practice.
• Serve as nutrition liaison/expert to assigned units and participate in interdisciplinary committees.
• Prepare communications with attention to health literacy.
