Job summary

Montefiore Health System is seeking a dietary worker to support patient meal service. You will help prepare tray lines, assemble meals, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of food trays to patients.

You will maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and assist the Food & Nutrition Team in daily operations. Requirements include a High School diploma, strong English skills, and knowledge of food safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in food safety preferred.
• English proficiency (spoken, reading, writing) required.
• Familiarity with food service equipment and tray handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely plating of foods and setup of tray line for breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts.
• Ensure patient receives accurate and complete food trays with 100% accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment and work areas according to NYSDOH and JCAHO codes.
• Set up tray assembly for meals with appropriate serving utensils, paper supplies and restock during service.
• Remove rubbish and maintain sanitary conditions in production and storage areas.
• Operate pot washing and other dishwashing equipment; ensure pots and pans are clean and stored properly.
• Communicate observations to the Food & Nutrition Team and assist coworkers to ensure smooth operation.
