Responsibilities

• Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service.
• Delivers nourishments and/or snacks to patients as ordered by physician/dietitian.
• Visits patients to introduce the services of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• May obtain food preferences from patients or family members.
• Communicate all patient food needs to the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Ensure nutrition diet care orders are provided by offering appropriate menu selections.
• Maintain sanitation by following cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks.
• Inventory and restock pantries, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Maintain temperature logs for unit refrigerators and freezers.
• Understand therapeutic diets and seek guidance when needed.
• Assist clinical staff in meeting patients' basic nutrition needs.
