Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Bilingual abilities preferred, but not required.
• This role may require lifting, bending, and extended standing.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service and delivers nourishments and snacks as ordered.
• Visits patients to introduce the services of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Obtains patient food preferences/dislikes from patients and/or family members.
• Communicate all patient food needs to the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Ensures that nutrition diet care orders are provided to the patient by offering appropriate menu selections.
• Maintains sanitation standards by following cleaning schedules and completing assigned sanitation tasks.
• Inventories and restocks pantries, refrigerators, and freezers on assigned units.
• Maintains temperature logs for unit refrigerators and freezers.
• Understands therapeutic diets using established protocols and seeks assistance when an error is observed.
• Assists the clinical staff in ensuring all patients' basic nutrition care needs are met.
