Job summary

UW Medicine Northwest is hiring Hospital Custodians to support day, evening, and night shifts across patient and non-patient areas. Positions include 60% FTE and 100% FTE opportunities with 24 to 40 hours per week.

The role focuses on cleaning, waste handling, and maintaining a sanitary environment at our Seattle campus. Join a mission-driven team within UW Medicine, with shift differentials of $1.50 for evenings and $5.00 for nights.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform daily custodial duties across patient and non-patient areas.
• Experience in general cleaning and sanitation tasks is preferred.
• Ability to follow hospital safety procedures and chemical handling instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs general facility cleaning and maintenance of patient rooms and non-patient areas.
• Makes beds and performs check-out cleaning.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms and fixtures.
• Dust mops, wet mops, vacuums floors and cleans furniture surfaces.
• Empties wastebaskets and disinfects wastebaskets; handles trash disposal.
• Follows hospital safety procedures and chemical handling instructions.
