Job summary

Harborview Medical Center's Environmental Services seeks Hospital Custodians to maintain a clean, safe environment across inpatient, non-patient areas, and administrative offices.

Role is 100% FTE, night shift 11:00pm-7:30am, with pay ranging from $21.63 to $29.99 per hour plus shift and weekend differential. UW Medicine supports a comprehensive benefits program and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform the required work.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure.
• Removes and properly handles soiled linen; disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms; dust and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant.
• Empties/relines wastebaskets, regulated medical waste containers, and recycle containers.
• Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean-up according to procedure.
• Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors.
• Cleans between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure.
• Vacuums and spot clean carpets; operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors.
• Follows written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, personal protective apparel, supplies, and equipment.
