FMG - Food Management Group, Inc. is seeking a cook to prepare meals for patients, staff and guests under the supervision of the Food Services Director.

The role includes supervising the kitchen in the director's absence and ensuring quality, safety and efficiency in all food-service activities. Candidates should have strong knowledge of cooking methods, temperatures, sanitation, and the ability to prepare meals in large quantities.

Qualifications

• Must read and write, perform simple calculations, and follow instructions.
• Thorough knowledge of foods and preparation methods.
• Know proper cooking temperatures for meats and other foods.
• Ability to time cooking of vegetables to preserve quality.
• Two years of training or experience in large-scale food prep.
• Formal or on-the-job training in food preparation and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus to determine quantities of meats, vegetables, soups, and desserts.
• Plans cooking schedule to ensure food is ready at specified times.
• Prepares cooking and seasoning of food items for each meal.
• Measures and mixes ingredients using kitchen equipment for sauces and desserts.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly cooking area.
• Assists on serving line and participates in weekly orders under guidelines.
