Job summary

AnMed is seeking a dedicated food service worker to prepare items for patient meals, cafeteria service, and catered functions. You will set up service lines, follow daily production recipes, and ensure accurate portion control.

The role emphasizes customer service, food safety, and teamwork in a hospital kitchen. Responsibilities include assembling foods for the day, preparing items for special diets, maintaining temperatures, and assisting in other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of recipe and food item measurements and portions.
• Two years of experience in restaurant or institutional cooking in large volume preferred.
• Current ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Three to six months on the job training to become proficient in hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble all food for the day’s menu and follow production notebooks.
• Prepare meats, soups, vegetables, and other items as specified for all diets.
• Display items on steam tables and manage portion sizes and serving utensils.
• Check next day’s menus and prep items as needed.
• Prepare food for special events and maintain safety/quality temperatures.
• Keep work area clean and sanitary and adhere to PPE policies.
• Assist in other areas as required and maintain professional image with patients and staff.
