Qualifications

• Three years of quantity cooking experience in healthcare or hospitality.
• AA degree in hospitality or culinary certification desirable.
• Good math skills; able to scale recipes.
• Must understand and follow recipes in food preparation and serving.
• Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and to solve problems.
• Knowledge of advanced prep techniques (slice, julienne, dice, batonnet, tourne) is a plus.
• Knowledge of buffet and banquet platters is a plus.
• Demonstration cooking skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve food for patients, cafeteria and catering.
• Maintain menus with accuracy, consistency, eye appeal and proper portion control.
• Comply with Food Safety Code and HACCP standards.
• Be involved in development of recipes, menus and food presentation.
• Monitor food quality to ensure highest quality standards of El Camino Hospital food experience.
