Job summary

PACS is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role requires preparing meals for residents, following menus, and maintaining sanitation. You will supervise dietary staff when needed and participate in ongoing training.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience, with a ServSafe certificate required or pursued. Strong safety and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures.
• Assist with serving meals and supervise when Dietary Supervisor is absent.
• Report care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses.
• Participate in dietary staff orientation and training.
