Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or 1 year relevant experience in cooking/production/food service.
• Successful completion of Safe Food Handler certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsabilités

• Supports the Food and Nutrition Team by preparing hot food and meal items in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Measures, mixes, and prepares ingredients according to approved recipes.
• Demonstrates proper use of kitchen equipment including blender, mixer, grinder, slicers, ovens, steamers.
• Maintains knife skills such as chopping, slicing, dicing, paring.
• Prepares café, patient, and catering items according to recipes and standards.
• Cooks meats, fish, and fowl using various methods and portions according to diet orders.
• Monitors and records temperatures of steam table and hot items.
• Ensures foods are prepared and served at proper temperatures.
• Maintains station appearance and handles leftovers with guidance from supervisor.
• Adheres to infection control and HACCP practices at all times.
