Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook I at the Lehigh Valley Hospital site in the Lehigh Valley area. The role requires varying shifts and full-time employment with an $19–$21 pay range per hour.

You will prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items across meal periods while maintaining safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Responsibilities include following recipes, estimating production needs, and supporting kitchen teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service.
• Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, serving soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts.
• Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production needs.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity.
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts.
