Job summary

AtlantiCare Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Cook for the Galloway, New Jersey location on a Per Diem / PRN schedule. You will prepare meals for patients, staff, and guests while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• One (1) year cooking experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary Arts degree preferred.
• Completion of state or local food safety training course preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas.
• In the absence of the Manager, the Cook supervises the dietary staff, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed and that sanitation and safety standards are maintained.
• Maintain equipment and ensure adherence to department standards for quality and portion control.
• Demonstrate initiative to identify problems and implement positive, sustainable solutions.

A partnership between Atlanticare and Select Medical, our 60-bed medical rehabilitation hospital will open later this year and serve patients in southeastern New Jersey. Led by a physiatrist - a physician board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation - our team includes rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists; dietitians; case managers and other clinical and support staff.

Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to best address the medical, physical, emotional and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation and multiple traumas.

You will prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas.
