AtlantiCare Rehabilitation Hospital - In partnership with Select Medical is seeking a Cook for per diem/PRN shifts in Galloway, New Jersey. Compensation is $20.00 per hour.

The team delivers inpatient rehabilitation services with a focus on brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and neurologic conditions, supported by a multidisciplinary staff. Responsibilities include patient meal preparation, assisting with kitchen duties, and supervising dietary staff in the Manager's absence while upholding

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year cooking experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary Arts degree preferred.
• Completion of state or local food safety training course preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests.
• Assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas.
• In the absence of the Manager, supervise the dietary staff and ensure compliance with sanitation and infection control policies.
• Provide high quality food preparation and service while maintaining department standards.
• Demonstrate initiative to identify problems and implement positive solutions.

A partnership between Atlanticare and Select Medical, our 60-bed medical rehabilitation hospital will open later this year and serve patients in southeastern New Jersey. Led by a physiatrist – a physician board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation – our team includes rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists; dietitians; case managers and other clinical and support staff.

Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to best address the medical, physical, emotional and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation and multiple traumas.

You will prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas. In the absence of the Manager, the Cook supervises the dietary staff, ensuring that our facility and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to, and that proper sanitation, safety and infection control policies are being followed.
