Job summary

UNC Health Care System seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee hospital building renovations, upgrades, and new construction. You will coordinate schedules, budgets, and documentation across departments, while ensuring compliance with hospital standards.

Ideal candidates bring healthcare construction experience, strong knowledge of construction management, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a complex environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Six (6) years of progressive experience in construction administration, building construction, or project engineering in institutional buildings.
• Experience in healthcare construction is strongly preferred.
• Skilled in construction management practices and interpreting design drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work schedules for in-house trades and contractors on projects.
• Troubleshoot and manage construction problems in new/renovated buildings and negotiate warranties.
• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule; interview and negotiate with architects/engineers.
• Provide construction management services including scheduling, change orders, and inspections.
• Represent UNC Health Care as owner on projects; maintain project documentation and closeouts.
• Support operations planning, budgeting, and development of projects.
