Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; dispatcher experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred; hospital experience preferred.
• PC and keyboard experience; ability to type 25 wpm; English fluency and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer and process all incoming calls for patients, staff, physicians and the public; assist with outgoing calls.
• Dispatches service staff and monitors progress of requests; prioritizes appropriate response.
• Maintain logs, records and reports; ensure timely updates to departments and leadership.
• Monitor alarms and paging systems; respond to emergencies per policy.
• Ensure HIPAA confidentiality and professional communication at all times.
• Assist in orientation and training of Communications Center staff; participate in department activities.
