Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II to clean, sanitize, and maintain hospital facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

The role covers trash and linen responsibilities, with a 24 hours per week schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. You will perform floor care, waste removal, linen handling, spill cleanup, and general cleaning in line with infection control standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial work, or hospital facility maintenance.
• Familiarity with infection-control standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing.
• Collects and disposes of waste, including biohazardous materials, per policy.
• Handles soiled linens and replaces with clean bags.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Responds to spills and conducts containment and disinfection.
• Moves furniture and equipment to support cleaning and maintenance.
• Monitors supply use and stores materials safely.
• Documents tasks and communicates needs to supervisors.
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance.
