Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Cycle professional to ensure accurate charge capture and compliant billing for ED and related services. The role uses the hospital's information systems and manual processes to review medical records and correct discrepancies.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of hospital or medical billing experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CPT/HCPCS. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years hospital, medical, or billing experience.
• Preferred familiarity with CPT/HCPCS and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Identify all chargeable ED services and supplies.
• Calculate ED E&M level.
• Identify charges per CPT hierarchy for ED and outpatient services.
• Enter charges, quantities, and modifiers within 72 hours of discharge.
• Maintain >97% completion rate of charges within 72 hours.
• Collaborate with Nurse Auditor to ensure accuracy of charges.
• Assist with charge capture and rebill projects as needed.
• Communicate issues to clinical/billing staff and support departments.
