Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Merit Health River Oaks to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role focuses on safe preparation, dispensing, and record-keeping of medications, collaborating with pharmacists to support patient care and staff needs.

Full-Time schedule is 7 on 7 off with varied shifts; candidates should have hospital pharmacy experience and a basic understanding of regulatory guidelines and sterile/non-sterile compounding.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Assist pharmacists in the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of medications per hospital policies.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic techniques per USP guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, inventory transactions, and controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists in the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic techniques, adhering to USP guidelines.
• Conducts inventory management activities, including monitoring medication stock levels, ordering supplies, and performing regular audits.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of medication dispensing, inventory transactions, and controlled substances in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participates in quality assurance initiatives to ensure patient safety and proper pharmacy operations.
• Provides customer service by addressing questions from patients, nurses, and staff about medication availability and services.
• Operates and maintains automated dispensing systems, ensuring functionality and troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Supports pharmacists in conducting medication reviews and reconciliation.
