Job summary

NorthBay Health is hiring a Stationary Engineer to safely operate and maintain the Medical Center’s central plant and utilities. You will manage steam boilers, electrical distribution, HVAC, medical gas systems, and life-safety equipment while ensuring regulatory compliance.

With 4+ years in healthcare facility operations and a CA driver’s license, you will coordinate with teams, document work in CMMS, and participate in after-hours standby as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of stationary engineer experience in healthcare facility operations and maintenance.
• Air conditioning certification preferred per 40 CFR part 82, subpart F; valid CA driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the hospital’s central utility plant systems and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect, test, and document maintenance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, and building systems.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and CMS/TJC/Cal-OSHA requirements.
• Read blueprints and manuals to determine proper operation and repair.
• Repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and other facility systems.
• Participate in after-hours standby rotation and emergency response when needed.
