Job summary

UPMC is seeking an Electrician to join our facilities team in Pittsburgh. This hands-on role installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems and equipment across the hospital campus, ensuring safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an electrical trade program or apprenticeship, and at least 5 years of experience in commercial or healthcare maintenance. Read blueprints and NFPA codes.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an electrical trade school or completion of an apprenticeship program required.
  • 5 years' experience in commercial or health care maintenance required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical wiring diagrams required.
  • Knowledge of the national electrical code and NFPA codes required.
  • Act 33 and Act 73 clearance must be provided within 30 days of hire.
  • Must possess a current driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Test equipment, generators, transfer switches and electrical equipment to meet policy, regulations and codes.
  • Change lamps and ballasts and perform outlet testing per iTMS work orders.
  • Promote patient safety.
  • Perform Electrical maintenance, installations, and repair on equipment throughout the hospital campus.
  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
