Job summary

UNC Health Care in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Building Automation Systems Technician to support Rex Facilities Main Hospital. You will operate BAS to monitor environmental controls and utility systems, provide technical guidance to facilities staff, and modify systems as required, collaborating with teams across the hospital.

The role involves troubleshooting, emergency response, and documentation of deviations and corrective actions.

Qualifications

Three (3) years of maintenance and repair experience in large facilities.
Experience with CMMS and hospital maintenance support.
Knowledge of BAS software for HVAC, steam and power distribution.
Certified BAS is preferred; driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

Operate BAS and hospital systems to monitor and control environmental controls.
Troubleshoot alarms, perform emergency calls, and document actions.
Collaborate with technicians and staff to solve complex control problems.
Monitor and service BAS across a large hospital complex.
Use CMMS to receive and open work orders; support Central Energy Plant operations.
Assist with equipment maintenance (thermostats, leaks, replacements) as needed.
Coordinate vendor support for repairs and monitor power distribution and switchgear.
