Job Description: Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I)

Summary

The BMET I provides clinical equipment services under close supervision, including validation, inspection, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment. The technician assists with troubleshooting and demonstrates adherence to TRIMEDX core values: respect, value creation, meaningful change, and integrity.

Responsibilities
  1. Technical Service (40%)
  2. Perform inspections, scheduled maintenance, safety checks, and operational verifications on biomedical equipment.
  3. Repair, install, and calibrate equipment.
  4. Report repair status, inspections, and customer concerns to supervisors.
  5. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure proper service.
  6. Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training.
  7. Assist with special projects as assigned.
  1. Regulatory Compliance (25%)
  2. Maintain accurate equipment database, including inventory and service history.
  3. Follow Medical Equipment Management Plan and comply with regulations.
  4. Ensure all documentation is complete and timely.
  1. Account Relationship Management (25%)
  2. Build and maintain customer relationships.
  3. Discuss equipment status with clinicians.
  4. Represent TRIMEDX positively, embodying organizational values.
  1. Inventory (10%)
  2. Inspect inventory status periodically.
  3. Verify security analysis for new equipment.
  4. Perform incoming inspections and maintain database accuracy.
  5. Make inventory recommendations.
Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in complex computer skills, including error code interpretation and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license; travel may be required.
Education and Qualifications
  • 2-year degree in technical/electronics or equivalent experience; waiver possible with TRIMEDX Trained Certification or similar.
  • Preferred: 3 months experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical setting.
  • Travel may be required based on business needs.
