Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a pharmacy services technician in managed care or similar setting.
• High school diploma required; certification is a plus.

Who We Are Looking For

Every day, Cambia’s dedicated team of Pharmacy Technicians live our mission to make health care easier and lives better. Our Pharmacy team provides technical support for pharmacy benefits, reimbursement, and drug use issues that do not require clinical judgment. They assist Clinical Pharmacy Consultants and Pharmacy Services staff with formulary operations and other processes requiring pharmaceutical knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related certificate
• At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy services technician in managed care, health insurer, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), or similar licensed setting, or equivalent education and experience

Skills and Attributes

• Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and HIPAA regulations
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, including orals, injectables, infusion products, and chemotherapy
• Proficiency with office practices and business communication
• Effective interaction with healthcare professionals
• Maturity, tact, diplomacy, and persuasiveness
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical pricing calculations
• Typing speed of 30 WPM (60 WPM preferred)
• Experience with standard business machines and basic computer programs (Word, Excel)
• Organizational and prioritization skills
• Experience with health insurance and prescription benefits is a plus

Responsibilities

• Handle non-clinical pharmacy issues from providers, staff, and customers, including formulary drug coverage, claims, and pricing
• Manage formulary operations, including tracking and processing requests and appeals
• Prepare documentation for reconsideration requests and communicate determinations
• Organize drug utilization data for clinical review
• Support audits and investigations related to medication claims and provider practices
• Assist with workflow organization for pharmacy claims review
• Contribute to wellness and quality improvement programs

Compensation and Benefits

Hiring range: $24.00 - $29.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Full salary range: $19.00 - $34.40/hour. Bonus target: 5%.
