Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to advance patients’ speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing outcomes. You will deliver evidence-based therapy in a well-supported rehab environment, ensuring timely, goal-driven care with a focus on patient independence and family education.

As part of a collaborative team, you will evaluate, plan, and adjust treatment programs, document clinically, and communicate progress and discharge plans.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• State of Florida SLP license required.
• CCC-SLP certification (Certificate of Clinical Competency) awarded by ASHA.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication and reading/comprehension; ability to follow verbal instructions; proficiency in PC use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient condition, obtain case history, and administer diagnostic tests for speech and language issues.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans.
• Document evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, safety, home strategies, and progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehab staff, and care managers for coordinated care.
