Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in East Meadow is seeking an Occupational Therapist to help patients improve daily living activities and self-care. You will plan and deliver age-appropriate therapy using clinical expertise, with documentation reflecting evaluation, prognosis, and plan of care.

Responsibilities include team collaboration, on-site supervision of assistants, progress evaluation, and patient/family education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE‑accredited program.
• Current and valid NYS Occupational Therapy license and registration or limited permit.
• Current and valid BLS or CPR certification (Inpatient facility).
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of evaluation, plan of care, and interventions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes; supervise assistants on-site.
• Evaluate progress toward functional goals and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Educate patient, family, and clinicians about functional status and care plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Conduct objective functional evaluations and establish measurable goals.
• Implement interventions aligned with patient status and age within the care plan.
