Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in East Meadow, NY, seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients improve daily living activities and self-care through age-appropriate therapy. You will plan and deliver safe, therapeutic interventions based on thorough examination and evaluation.

Minimum qualifications include ACOTE-approved OT education and NYS OT license with CPR/BLS certification; preferred Masters and outpatient/inpatient rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited program.
• Current and valid NYS Occupational Therapy license and registration or limited permit.
• Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association (Inpatient facility).

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate, complete and timely documentation of evaluation, diagnosis, plan of care and interventions.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and provides on-site supervision to OT staff and Rehabilitation Aides.
• Evaluates patient progress toward functional goals and adjusts the plan of care accordingly.
• Educates patients, families and clinicians about functional status and care plan.
• Performs an objective functional evaluation and establishes measurable goals.
• Implements interventions aligned with patient status and age.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Occupational Therapist - East Meadow.

In this role, the successful candidate Provides appropriate therapy toHelp patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living and to achieve optimal level of self-care and productivity. Uses clinical expertise to plan the delivery of safe, therapeutic, and age appropriate care through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains accurate, complete and timely documentation reflecting the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, education and interventions.
• Interacts and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals. Provides on-site clinical supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides.
• Evaluates patient progress toward functional goals, and will modify the the plan of care accordingly.
• Provides patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient s functional status and plan of care.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Performs an objective functional evaluation including appropriate tests and measures and establishes a plan of care with measurable goals.
• Implements appropriate interventionstreatment as indicated by the patient s functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the plan of care.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy (Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) approved OT program). Current and valid NYS Occupational Therapy license and registration or limited permit. Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association - Inpatient facility only. Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills. Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree. Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association - Outpatient facility only. 1- 2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting. Experience in Neuro - Outpatient facility only.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $109,129.65 - $120,629.65 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
