Qualifications

• Must have 4 years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Experience in hospitals, medication billing, prior authorizations or patient assistance programs preferred.
• Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• PTCB certification preferred but not required.
• Must pass pharmacy math and spelling test with a minimum score of 80%.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with medication needs at transitions of care including discharge, clinic, hospital at home and take-home medications.
• Interview and begin applications for medication assistance programs.
• Obtain patient demographics and financial information for assistance programs.
• Process prior authorization requests and manage documentation in the EMR.
• Maintain records, track inventory, and perform clerical duties for medications.
