Job summary

Garnet Health Security seeks an Armed Security Guard to ensure the safety of the Garnet Health Medical Center community, enforcing policies and procedures, and protecting people and assets across facilities. The role may involve supervision of Security Officers as directed by leadership.

Minimum education is an Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or five years of direct security experience with required NYS license and certifications. Evening and weekend shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Security or related field required OR direct five (5) years of direct Law Enforcement/Security experience within a position of responsible charge.
• Active shooter response training course preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Armed Security Officer will perform all necessary functions to ensure the daily safety of the Garnet Health Medical Center hospital community, including all facilities and personnel.
• Enforce Garnet Health Medical Center and Security Department policies and procedures to safeguard personnel, equipment, facilities, information, and documents.
• May provide supervision to Security Officers as directed by leadership.
