Job summary

Avera St Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD is seeking an Admissions Specialist to register patients, verify insurance, and collect payments. This regular, rotating shift role covers days/evenings/nights including weekends and holidays, with a pay range of $18.00 - $23.25 per hour.

You will register patients, verify eligibility, collect co-pays, and coordinate with care teams to ensure accurate accounts and timely billing, all while delivering compassionate patient service.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with patient registration and/or medical billing is a plus.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and co-pay collection processes.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and creates accounts and medical record numbers accurately.
• Verifies insurance coverage and collects patient co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Completes insurance verifications and pre-certification/authorization for assigned accounts.
• Maintains positive patient relations and ensures HIPAA compliance.
