Job summary

JourneyCare Hospice in Illinois is seeking a Hospice Weekend Admission RN for Every Other Friday and Saturday, with competitive salaries and immediate opening.

You will perform pre-admission evaluations, initiate admissions by informing patients and families, obtain informed consent, and provide nursing assessment and initial care plans to optimize comfort and quality of life for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited registered nursing program.
• Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-admission evaluations for the appropriateness of services.
• Initiates the admission process by educating and informing patients/families of its services.
• Obtains informed consent.
• Provides nursing assessment, initial plan of care, and interventions to optimize patient and family-directed comfort and quality of life.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program
• Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of practice
• Must possess current CPR Certification
• 1 year of Hospice experience, preferred
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, family members, visitors, agency personnel, and the general public
• Must be knowledgeable of quality assessment and assurance procedures

HOUR REQUIREMENTS

Every Other Friday and Saturday 10AM-10:30PM
