• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in program development and clinical supervision preferred.
• Ability to relate to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Understanding and support of hospice philosophy.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and select hospice volunteers.
• Provide orientation, ongoing training, and supervision of volunteers.
• Review appropriateness of volunteer involvement upon referrals.
• Serve as liaison for volunteers with the Hospice Team.
• Complete IDG documentation and care plans accurately and timely.
• Participate in biweekly IDG meetings.
• Coordinate an annual volunteer recognition event.
• Support volunteer retention through groups, calls, and outreach.
