Job summary

BroadReach Hospice in Chatham, MA is seeking a dedicated Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support volunteers while ensuring compliance with hospice regulations and accurate records.

You will collaborate with clinical teams to match volunteers with patient needs and oversee ongoing education, engagement, and retention programs across Cape Cod.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
• Experience in program development, management and clinical supervision preferred.
• Ability to relate to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Understanding and support of hospice philosophy.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skills.
• Disposition to work harmoniously with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and select volunteers for hospice programs.
• Orientation and ongoing training and supervision of volunteers as per Medicare COP.
• Review appropriateness of volunteer involvement upon referrals from nursing/social work staff.
• Collaborate with Hospice Team to support volunteers and act as liaison.
• Complete IDG documentation and care plans accurately and timely.
• Participate in biweekly IDG meetings.
• Coordinate an annual volunteer recognition event.
• Support volunteer retention through groups, calls, flyers, and meetings.

PositionOverview:

Duties& Responsibilities:

• Recruit,interview, and select volunteers for hospice programs
• Responsiblefor orientation and ongoing training and supervision of volunteersconsistent with the duties and functions to be performed to satisfyMedicare COP for hospice program.
• Reviewsappropriateness of volunteer involvement upon referral from nursing/socialwork personnel.
• Withother members of the Hospice Team, provide supervision and serve as aresource and liaison for volunteers.
• CompletesIDG documentation and care plans accurately and timely.
• Activeparticipant in biweekly IDG meeting
• Coordinatesan annual volunteer recognition event.
• Responsiblefor volunteer retention. This may include support groups, telephone calls,flyers, meeting with the volunteers on an individual basis.

Qualificationsfor the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator:

• Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
