Broad Reach Hospice in Chatham, MA is hiring a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and align them with patient needs. You will ensure compliance with hospice regulations and maintain accurate records, working with clinical teams to match volunteers to care plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in program development, management and clinical supervision preferred.
• Ability to relate to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Understanding and support of hospice philosophy.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communicationskills.
• Must work harmoniously with diverse staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and select hospice volunteers.
• Coordinate orientation and ongoing training for volunteers.
• Review appropriateness of volunteer involvement on referrals.
• Provide supervision and serve as liaison for volunteers.
• Complete IDG documentation and care plans.
• Participate in biweekly IDG meetings.
• Coordinate an annual volunteer recognition event.
• Support volunteer retention through outreach.

PositionOverview:

Responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising, andsupporting hospice volunteers while ensuring compliance with hospiceregulations and maintaining accurate volunteer records. This role alsocollaborates with clinical teams to match volunteers with patient needs. Overseeongoing volunteer education, engagement, and retention programs.

Duties& Responsibilities:

• Recruit,interview, and select volunteers for hospice programs
• Responsiblefor orientation and ongoing training and supervision of volunteersconsistent with the duties and functions to be performed to satisfyMedicare COP for hospice program.
• Reviewsappropriateness of volunteer involvement upon referral from nursing/socialwork personnel.
• Withother members of the Hospice Team, provide supervision and serve as aresource and liaison for volunteers.
• CompletesIDG documentation and care plans accurately and timely.
• Activeparticipant in biweekly IDG meeting
• Coordinatesan annual volunteer recognition event.
• Responsiblefor volunteer retention. This may include support groups, telephone calls,flyers, meeting with the volunteers on an individual basis.

Qualificationsfor the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator:

• Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
• Experiencein program development, management and clinical supervision are preferred.
• Abilityto relate to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Understandingand support of hospice philosophy
• Excellentorganizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communicationskills.
• Mustpossess the disposition and personality to work harmoniously with a widevariety of peopleand all levels of staff and interactprofessionally as a member of a multidisciplinary team
