Job summary

Angels Care Hospice is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer program, guiding recruitment, training, scheduling, and support for volunteers across patient care activities.

You will develop orientation programs, monitor compliance, maintain volunteer records, and collaborate with hospice teams to meet patient needs and improve service quality.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in management and supervision.
• Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services.
• Understanding of hospice philosophy.
• Organize and develop volunteer personnel for patient and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program.
• Establish a need for volunteer services with the patient, family/caregiver, and entire hospice team.
• Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintains current personnel files on active volunteers.
• Attends interdisciplinary group meetings.
• Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services.
• Participates, as needed, in the budget preparation for program development.
• Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
• Monitors continuous compliance with Medicare and other licensure regulations.
• Responsible for documenting and tracking appropriate volunteer statistical information.
• Ensures a minimum of 5% of the total number of patient care hours are provided by volunteers in administrative and/or direct patient care roles.
